Guest Agreement
Guest Agreement
⚠️ Working Draft
This is the working version of my guest agreement, shared openly. It's being finalized with an attorney. The signed version is what governs, but I'd rather you see how I think about these conversations now than wait until every comma has been reviewed.
The short version
If you remember nothing else, remember this:
- You always have control over your participation.
- Consent isn't a one-time checkbox—it's an ongoing conversation.
- I won't deliberately edit you to say something you didn't mean.
- If something genuinely concerns you after we record, we'll talk about it.
- You're giving me your time. I don't take that lightly.
The full agreement is below, but those are the principles everything else is built on.
The Agreement
Render the full plain-language agreement here, organized into readable sections:
- Your control over your participation
- My responsibilities as the host
- Recording, editing, and clips
- Honorarium
- Names, titles, and identifying information
- Off-the-record conversations
- Publication and promotion
- Withdrawal and exceptional circumstances
Honorariums
Some guests are offered an honorarium for their time.
Whether one is offered is entirely at my discretion, and when it is, it's compensation for your time and presence—never for what you say or the positions you take.
Whether a particular guest received an honorarium, and any amount, remains private between us.
Language
If English isn't your first language, I'm happy to provide the agreement in your preferred language whenever practical.
The translated version exists to make sure we're communicating clearly. If there's ever a difference between versions, the signed English agreement governs.
Interested?
If this sounds like the kind of conversation you'd like to have, I'd love to hear from you.
